Wrestling

Wrestling is one of the toughest sports in the world.  Cobra Kai's wrestling builds mental toughness and stability.  Students at the academy will learn to leverage their opponents to obtain a dominant position.  You'll learn that it's best to manipulate than to force your will into an opponent.  Wrestling gives you a mindset of unbreakable will.  Body strength, work ethic, and comradery are absolute musts.  Wrestling is combat-effective and has recently seen an exploding growth in mixed martial arts. The wrestler will dictate where battle will take place.  Unlike most martial arts, wrestling grants students the opportunity to earn scholarships for future education.

The Sport of Wrestling

Wrestling is one of the earliest forms of combat.  One individual pits his power and will against another without resorting to striking.  He who controls the dominant position for the majority of the match wins by points scored.  The alternative and most exciting way to win a match, is to pin your opponent to the mat.

Wrestling has yet to achieve the recognition it deserves.  With the recent uprising of MMA, Wrestling has had the opportunity to showcase it's skills in live combat.  As the World of Martial Arts continues to grow, we will bear witness to one of the Martial Arts that continues to evolve hundreds of years later.

Wrestling: The Transitional Martial Art

Wrestling is known as a transitional Martial Art.  Most Martial Arts begin on their feet, but rarely transition to the ground.  Wrestlers have mastered the transition from standing on two feet to battling with opponents on all fours.  There are few to no Martial Arts that can defend a Wrestlers takedown attempts.
